Drunken noodles were created in Thailand because of a man who was so drunk that he needed a dish to help sober him up. So, the chef created “drunken noodles” the noodles were so spicy that it was surely to sober him up. Or at least, this is the story that they tell when sharing this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 pack fresh rice noodle

  • 6-8 oz protein

  • 1 bell pepper

  • 3 jalapeno

  • ½ onion

  • 5 clove garlic

  • 5 Thai chili

  • ½ cup of basil

SAUCE:

  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tbsp fish sauce

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp sugar (adjust to your liking)

  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce

Instructions

Prep your noodles and peel them apart. I typically get my fresh noodles from my local Asian Market.

To a hot skillet or wok add garlic, protein, veggie, then noodle. Add sauce. Toss quickly, garnish with basil and serve, enjoy!

Optional: if you want to add an egg into the noodle. Move the ingredients to side and scramble egg on the side so it does not clump into the noodles. Enjoy!!
